I haven't found an e-mail client that deals with thousands of messages on an Exchange server very well yet, and I've tried a few. It's still slow and buggy, and at this point I think it's the server technology mixed with stupid big numbers of messages in folders. I think a lot of the "Bad Outlook Experiance" is actually a mix of "Bad Exchange Experiance", and moreso "Not Fast Enough Internet to O365" mixed with now huge mailbox sizes, encouraged by 50GB quotas or larger on O365.
